Split Shape Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

Split Shape is made by David Hoogendam ("we"). This policy explains what information the app handles and why. The short version: the game does not ask you to create an account, your progress stays on your device, and the only data that leaves your phone is what our advertising and analytics partners need to show ads and to tell us how the game is used.

What we store on your device

Your level progress, coins, streaks, awards and settings are saved locally on your device. We do not upload this data to our own servers. Deleting the app deletes it.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

Split Shape shows ads between levels and offers an optional rewarded video. Ads are served by Google AdMob. To do this, Google receives technical information from your device such as the IP address, device model, operating system version and, if you allow it, the advertising identifier (IDFA).

On iOS the app asks for permission before using the advertising identifier (the "Allow Tracking" prompt). If you decline, you still see ads, but they are not personalized. You can change this at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security > Tracking. In the European Economic Area and the UK, the app also shows a consent form for personalized ads; you can revisit it from the Settings screen in the game.

You can remove ads permanently with the Remove Ads purchase.

Analytics and crash reports (Firebase)

We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand how the game is played and to find bugs. This includes events such as which levels are started and passed, how long they take, which shop screens are opened, and anonymous crash reports with technical details about your device. This data is not linked to your name or email address. We use it only to improve the game.

In-app purchases (Apple)

Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies to the transaction: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

Game Center (Apple)

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reports your achievements and leaderboard scores to Apple so they can be shown in Game Center. This is optional; the game works without Game Center. Apple's Game Center privacy information: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/game-center/

Children

Split Shape is not directed at children under 13 and is not part of the App Store Kids category. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its processing. Because we do not hold personal data ourselves, requests about advertising or analytics data are best handled through the settings described above (the iOS tracking setting, the consent form in the game, and Google's controls at https://myadcenter.google.com). You can also contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, mention it in the app's release notes.
